Tom Aspinall är inställd på att möta vinnaren av tungviktstitelkampen i november

Interim-mästaren i UFC:s tungviktsdivision Tom Aspinall har givit sin reaktion på bekräftandet av titelkampen mellan Jon Jones och Stipe Miocic. De två männen kommer drabba samman i oktogonen den 16:e november. Enligt Aspinall kommer han vara på plats och ser sig som nästa man på tur att möta vinnaren av matchen.

Tom Aspinall exalterad inför titelmatch i tungvikt

Under helgens UFC-gala i Las Vegas bekräftade organisationens vd Dana White det som många fans länge förväntat sig. Det handlar om en titelkamp i tungvikt mellan den regerande mästaren Jon ”Bones” Jones (27-1, 1 NC) och Stipe Miocic (20-4). Ryktena om en kamp de två emellan har således blivit verklighet.

En som är särskilt exalterad inför den stundande matchen mellan Jones och Miocic är interim-bälteshållaren i tungvikt, Tom ”Honey Badger” Aspinall (15-3). Aspinall berättar att han kommer närvara under matchen och är redo att hoppa in vid en skada på antingen Jones eller Miocic. Han vill även möta segraren av titelkampen.

Kommer närvara under kampen

I en video uppladdad till hans Youtube-kanal förklarar Tom Aspinall att han kommer vara med på plats under galan där Jones vs. Miocic möts i oktogonen. Aspinall skall även ha underrättat UFC om sin tillgänglighet som ersättare utifall att någon av de två männen uteblir från kampen.

I’m not in Vegas but last night, I kind of wished that I was in Vegas because that looked unbelievable. Jon Jones was there, he had his cowboy hat on, he was making videos putting them on Instagram. Him and Ryan Garcia rapping about Jesus Christ, it’s what we love to see, Jon Jones is in the mood for a party, and we love to see it.

What else happened there was big Jon Jones and big Stipe Miocic matched up with one another, finally it’s official for November 16^th, MSG, New York City. The heavyweight title is on the line at long last. Finally, we are confirmed for it, and I will of course be there to watch these two gentlemen go at it, I of course have told the UFC that if anybody gets injured or there’s any other reason why nobody can make it to that fight, I’m ready to go.

Engelsmannen fortsätter med att beskriva hur han ser sig själv som självklar nästa man på tur att möta vinnaren av Jones vs. Miocic.

In my opinion, it should not be two champions in one division, I think that is silly; this is not what the UFC is about, this is not what MMA is about. There’s one guy in each weight division and I believe it’s me. So I’ll be fighting the winner, I’ll be there if they need me, I’ll be fit and ready, I’m training right now and ready to go. I’ll be ready to go on November 16 if I need to. MSG is the place where I won the title, I’ll go back there and I’ll unify the title there as well if I need to.
