Israel Adesanya söker en match till innan årets slut

UFC-mellanviktaren Israel Adesanya säger sig vilja gå en kamp till under året. Anledningen skall vara att han bara vill slåss för kampens skull. Adesanya förklarar även att han inte längre har någon fejd med den regerande lätta tungviktsmästaren Alex Pereira, som han ser som en avslutad historia.

Den forne UFC-mästaren i mellanvikt Israel ”The Last Stylebender” Adesanya (24-4) är redo att återigen kliva in i oktogonen. Han har redan gått en kamp det här året, vilket blev en förlustmatch mot den regerande mästaren Dricus ”Stillknocks” Du Plessis (22-2). Enligt Adesanya vill han hinna med ett oktogonframträdande till innan årsskiftet. Detta skall vara för att han bara vill slåss, säger han.

Kämpa för kampens skull

I en intervju nyligen förklarar Israel Adesanya att han söker sig en match till innan 2025. Det är dock inte en andra chans på mellanviktsbältet som lockar honom tillbaka till oktogonen. I stället skall det vara en kamplust som driver nyzeeländaren till att försöka få ytterligare en match, förklarar han.

A rematch with Du Plessis will come later on. Right now, after I just fought him, I don’t think it’s going to be immediately. I’d rather just fight, not really for the belt, just fight for fighting’s sake. Even though I don’t have the belt, they still have got my name in their mouth.

I’m still Israel Adesanya. For me, I’ll let them call me out or whatever. At the moment, I want to fight one more time before the end of this year or early next year. I don’t know yet. I’m just training, building up where we left off. I’ll get the call at some point with a few options.

I think Dana will hit me up at some point. Sean Strickland is going to fight Du Plessis first. I think he’s next. So even see how that plays out, see how the Rob-Khamzat fight plays out, and there are some other young guys on the come up. So yeah, we’ll see.

När det kommer till fejden med Alex ”Poatan” Pereira (11-2), skall den vara över. Adesanya beskriver hur han inte längre känner att hans historia med brasilianaren är relevant eller aktuell.
