Charles Oliveira söker returmatch om lättviktstiteln

UFC-lättviktaren Charles Oliveira vill ta sig an mästaren Islam Makhachev i oktogonen. Enligt Oliveria, har han den lyster som krävs för att en returmatch med den ryske titelhållaren ska bli en publiksuccé. Deras första kamp slutade i en förlust via submission, vilket även resulterade i att brasilianaren förlorade bältet.

Nyligen tog den tidigare UFC-lättviktsmästaren Charles ”do Bronxs” Oliveira (35-19, 1 NC) till sociala medier för att yrka på en titelutmaning. Den nu 35-årige brasilianaren vill ta sig an den regerande mästaren i divisionen Islam Makhachev (27-1). de två har mötts en gång tidigare, det i en kamp från 2022. Där förlorade Oliveira sitt bälte till Makhachev.

International Fight Week

I sitt inlägg på Instagram förklarar Charles Oliveira att han är redo att åter en gång möta Islam Makhahev i oktogonen. Han anser sig vara av en tillräckligt hög status för att UFC-fansen kommer flockas till en andra kamp de två emellan. Oliveira vill även se att denna titelmatch äger rum under International Fight Week.

The UFC and MMA have a lot of guys who talk a big game. I can talk because I’ve been here for almost 15 years. I’m the bonus king, submission master, the record-breaker. That’s me. I want to fight during International Fight Week, Islam Makhachev two. Dana White, Sean Shelby, Hunter Campbell, let’s make this happen. I really want this fight. I’m chasing the belt, I want to be the champion again.

Brown tror på Topuria

Det finns dock dem som hellre vill se att den forne fjäderviktsmästaren Ilia ”El Matador” Topuria (16-0) är den som får utmana Makhachev om bältet härnäst. Den legendariske welterviktaren Matt ”The Immortal” Brown säger att det inte finns någon annan i lättviktsdivisionen som åstadkommit något av värde jämfört med spanjoren.

I give it to Ilia. We’ve talked about it, Islam, he’ll give resistance to that. He’ll try for that not to be the fight. Rightfully enough, I think he should but I don’t feel like anybody else has done anything significant to be just clear.
