Sean Brady vill få 1:a positionen till titelutmaning

UFC-welterviktaren Sean Brady hoppas på att bli nästa titelutmanare i divisionen. Han besegrade nyligen den forne mästaren Leon Edwards via submission. Brady vill dock inte möta Ian Machado Garry i oktogonen.

Sean Brady siktar på topposition

Den amerikanske welterviktaren i UFC Sean Brady (18-1) kommer nyligen från en vinst över en tidigare titelhållare i divisionen. Under helgens gångna gala mötte och besegrade Brady Englands Leon ”Rocky” Edwards (22-5, 1 NC) på imponerande manér. Han lyckades sjunka in en submission i den fjärde ronden, vilket gav Brady hans tredje seger på raken i welterviktsklassen.

Nu står han inför flera val på vem som blir hans nästa motståndare. Brady själv vill ta sig till en utmanarposition om bältet. Han är dock inte intresserad i att möta irländaren Ian ”The Future” Machado Garry (15-1), som han beskriver som en lipsill.

Inget intresse i Machado Garry

I en intervju nyligen förklarar Sean Brady att han inte vill möta Ian Machado Garry i en kamp. Han anser inte att irländaren har en tillräckligt hög status i organisationen. I stället föreslår Brady att Machado Garry kan möta Jack Della Maddalena (17-2), medan han själv tar sig an en topprankad motståndare.

I heard he was bitching that he didn’t get the fight with Belal. You lost your fight. What are you talking about? You came in 2nd place. You don’t get rewarded for that. It made the most sense for it to be Jack. He’s number seven at this point and lost his last fight.

I won my last three and just beat a former champion, who was a really good champion. So, I got bigger things going on than Ian Machado Garry.I would be interested in the loser of the title fight, I’d be interested in the winner of the title fight, or Shavkat.

Bisping vill se Edwards vs. Machado Garry

MMA-veteranen och UFC-expertkommentatorn Michael ”The Count” Bisping har en annan motståndare i åtanke för Machado Garry. han anser att ”The Future” borde möta Sean Bradys senaste besegrade motståndare, nämligen Leon Edwards.

I like the Ian Garry matchup because I think Leon deserves to go out there and fight someone that’s going to give him a stylistically favorable matchup. I don’t mean a winnable fight, but not a nightmare scenario where another guy is trying to take him down. Give him like what Jack Della Maddalena would have been. I think the biggest opponent for Leon Edwards now though is going to be himself.

What’s going on in his head? Does he accept that, ‘OK, I was just beaten by two really high-level grapplers, maybe the two best grapplers in the division, and I’m still 33 years old, I haven’t slowed down, I haven’t got injuries, I’m not riddled with arthritis.’
