Dricus Du Plessis svarar på Alex Pereiras påstådda ogillande

En av helgens kommande huvudmän under UFC 312 Dricus Du Plessis ska tydligen vara illa omtyckt av den lätta tungviktsmästaren Alex Pereira. Detta säger Du Plessis motståndare till galan Sean Strickland. Du Plessis vet dock inte varför Pereira skulle tycka illa om honom.

Nu till helgen kommer mellanviktsmästaren i UFC Dricus ”Stillknocks” Du Plessis (22-2) att kliva in i oktogonen för att försvara sitt bälte. Motståndet blir den tidigare titelhållaren Sean ”Tarzan” Strickland (30-6). De två männen har mötts en gång förut i en kamp där Du Plessis lyckades erövra titeln. Inför deras match under lördagsnatten svensk tid har Strickland påstått att hans träningspartner och den lätta tungviktsmästaren i UFC Alex ”Poatan” Pereira (12-2) tycker illa om Du Plessis.

I think Alex is an angry motherfucker. Like Alex is angry and for some reason dude he hates Dricus. Like I don’t know what you did to him but he fucking hates you dude so it’s like the way he looks at Dricus sometimes I’m like, ‘Dude, I’m fighting him dawg, like it’s me dude’. But yeah no, Alex just has that hate in his heart and he’s a good dude so he’s out there, I was like, ‘Let’s come on, let’s get it in’.

Dricus Du Plessis säger sig inte veta om varför Alex Pereira skulle tycka illa om honom. De två har enbart träffats en gång, där ”Stillknocks” ska ha bett om ett foto tillsammans med brasilianaren. Du Plessis fortsätter med att beskriva Pereira som en av de bästa kampsportsutövarna genom alla tider. Om det skulle vara så att Pereira inte har särskilt höga tankar om honom, är det här dock inget som berör Du Plessis, avslutar han.

Pereira was also in the corner of Strickland in the last fight. And that doesn’t make any difference to me. And the same applies to this one. I don’t think he hates me. If he does, I don’t know why. Sometimes you see a person and you just don’t like them, maybe that’s it. Maybe he doesn’t like my face, or my attitude, I don’t know.

But I don’t think he hates me. But if he does, I have no idea why. We’ve never even spoken. I asked him for a picture, I think, once. I consider Alex an incredible fighter, one of the greatest that ever walked the planet Earth, one of the greatest combat athletes in history. But if he hates me, I don’t care. I have enough friends already.
