Joaquin Buckley vill få första titelutmaning vid seger över Kamaru Usman

UFC-welterviktaren Joaquin Buckley hoppas på att placera sig i position att utmana om titeln i divisionen. Buckley möter veteranen Kamaru Usman under helgens gala i Atlanta, Georgia. Skulle han vinna matchen, vill Buckley bli nästa man på tur att möta mästaren framför Islam Makhachev.

Joaquin ”New Mansa” Buckley (21-6) kommer gå sin första match för året nu till helgen. han drabbar samman med den forne mästaren i weltervikt Kamaru ”The Nigerian Nightmare” Usman (20-4) under galan i Atlanta, Georgia, natten till söndagen svensk tid. Buckley, som idag befinner sig på en plats nummer 7 i welterviktsdivisionens rankning, hoppas på en titelutmaning vid en vinst över Usman.

I en video nyligen uppladdad på hans Youtube-kanal, beskriver Joaquin Buckley hur han förväntar sig en titelmatch i weltervikt om han besegrar Usman under helgens gala. Han säger att ingen annan i divisionen kan leva upp till det som han själv åstadkommit i rankningen.

You already know once we beat Kamaru Usman, it’s title time. It’s time to go get my belt. There’s no other person that’s been doing what I’ve been doing in the roster. I don’t really like to talk about other people and their careers, but like I said, mine’s been unmatched with not just having 15 fights within the promotion within five years, but as well going undefeated in the welterweight division.

Also, knocking out every ranked opponent and like I said, might get my fourth knockout of my ranked opponent in Kamaru Usman. You can’t name another guy that’s doing something like that. So once I beat Kamaru Usman, there is no debate, there is no back-and-forth, there is no argument. We up next.

Buckley fortsätter med att säga att den tidigare lättviktsmästaren Islam Makhachev (27-1) inte borde få nästa chans på titeln. I stället tillhör nästa titelutmaning honom själv, förklarar ”New Mansa”. Vidare säger Buckley att Makhachev borde vänta med att slåss om bältet i welterviktsdivisionen tills han har det spänt runt sin midja. Detta då han ser sig själv som den största utmaningen till ryssen.
