UFC-lättviktaren Justin Gaethjes manager Ali Abdelaziz ser amerikanen som nästa titelutmanare i divisionen. Enligt Abdelaziz är Gaethje villig att möta vem som helst, när som helst, så länge matchningen är resonlig för hans karriär.

Justin ”The Highlight” Gaethje (26-5) är idag rankad nummer 3 i UFC:s lättviktsdivision. Den 36-årige amerikanen har varit en av de främsta lättviktarna i organisationen sedan han anslöt sig till UFC i 2017. Under sin tid i oktogonen har Gaethje bland annat utmanat om bältet i viktklassen samt gått en kamp om BMF-titeln.

Han gick senast match i mars månad det här året, där han besegrade kazakstaniern Rafael ”Ataman” Fiziev (12-4) under UFC 313. Enligt Gaethjes manager, Ali Abdelaziz, borde ”The Highlight” stå näst på tur att utmana om bältet i lättviktsdivisionen. Abdelaziz berättar även att Gaethje är villig att möta vem som helst för att få möjligheten på en andra titelutmaning i lättvikt.

Redo att slåss

I en intervju nyligen beskriver Justin Gaethjes manager Ali Abdelaziz att han ser sin fajter som Nr. 1 Contender i lättviktsdivisionen. En anledning är att han tog kampen med Fiziev, trots att det ursprungligen skulle ha varit en annan motståndare, säger Abdelaziz.

Abdelaziz anser att Gaethje nu borde vänta ett tag tills han får en chans på titeln. Dock säger han även att Gaethje är helt villig att möta någon i oktogonen, så länge det är en matchning som avancerar hans position i divisionen.

I think Justin Gaethje’s the No. 1 contender. He was supposed to fight Dan Hooker, and Hooker didn’t show up. He stepped up for the company, fought Rafael Fiziev at UFC 313, and I think he should wait and fight the winner. That’s what I think he should do, but in reality, this game leaves people behind, and I don’t want this game to leave him behind. If it makes sense, Justin will fight.

Justin is afraid of no one. He will fight anyone. It has to make sense for him. Who cares? It doesn’t matter. If you’re a fighter and you think you’re the best in the world, you have to beat the best guys. You don’t pick and choose. Justin Gaethje never picked an opponent, never chose an opponent.

He will fight you anywhere, any time. It doesn’t really matter, but it has to be fair. A guy who gave his title shot to save International Fight Week and fight Max Holloway. He knocked out Dustin Poirier and Dustin Poirier got a title shot. How are you going to tell him he can’t get the next title shot?
