UFC-veteranen Colby Covington har åter en gång uttalat sig rörande den irländske viktklasskollegan Ian Machado Garry. Machado Garry vann nyligen sin andra kamp för året när han besegrade Michael Page under UFC 303. Enligt Covington var dock vinsten en ”patetisk” uppvisning från 26-åringen.
Covington inte imponerad av Machado Garry
Under den gångna helgens UFC-gala klev Ian ”The Future” Machado Garry (15-0) in i oktogonen för en andra kamp detta året. Där mötte han MMA-ikonen Michael ”Venom” Page (22-3) i en welterviktsmatch som skulle gå alla tre ronder ut. Vid kampens slutände var det Machado Garry som fick se sin hand höjd i mitten av canvasen följande en vinst via enhälligt beslut.
En som tydligen såg kampen och inte var särskilt imponerad av ”The Future”s prestation inne i oktogonen är Colby ”Chaos” Covington (17-4). Han har nu beskrivit Machado Garrys seger som patetisk och anser att kampen borde ha blivit dömd som oavgjord på poängkorten.
Borde varit oavgjort
I en intervju nyligen talar Colby Covington om kampen mellan två av hans welterviktskollegor i Ian Machado Garry och Michael Page. Covington säger sig tycka synd om UFC-fansen, som inte fick den kamp de utlovats, förklarar han. Han anser även att den vinsten, vilken tilldelades Machado Garry, egentligen borde ha varit ett oavgjort resultat.
Even Dana White himself said what he thought of the performance. He thought it was a draw. He didn’t think there should have been a winner. You know, I feel bad for the fans. The fans got robbed of, you know, a pay-per-view opener. That was pathetic. That guy is fighting the number 14 guy in the world and barely scraping by.
I think he lost the fight. You know, I feel bad for the fans. They got robbed. But, it just shows how much of a bum he is. He came like, yeah, I wanna be on a Conor McGregor card, he was willing to do whatever he wants to be on the Conor McGregor card.
Covington fortsätter med att kalla Machado Garry för en Conor McGregor-wannabe. Det faktum att den unge irländaren inte fick gå sin kamp som co-main under galan säger mycket om vad UFC anser om honom, säger ”Chaos”. Covington avslutar även med att förolämpa Machado Garrys hustru.
He’s the Conor McGregor wannabe. He pulled all of these strings to get on the Conor McGregor card, and then Conor left him at the altar. So, I thought it was pretty funny, you know? I thought he was a ‘star’. I thought Ian Garry was a big name. What happened? They had their co-main events fall through like six or seven times.
Why couldn’t he get bucked up to co-main event? I guess that shows us what UFC thinks about the guy. The guy is an absolute nobody, and he’s a bum. He has no reason to talk about anything. He keeps talking about this GOAT stuff. The only GOAT that he has is his wife, and she’s the throat GOAT, if you know what I mean.
