Michael Chandler förutspår att Conor McGregor ”ger upp” i deras match

UFC-lättviktaren Michael Chandler anser att hans motståndare och MMA-stjärnan Conor McGregor saknar kampvilja. Enligt Chandler, är McGregor en fighter som väljer att ge upp när det blir tufft i matchen. Han förutspår således att Conor kommer slänga in handduken i den andra ronden av deras möte i oktogonen.

McGregor ger upp för lätt

Trots att deras annonserade kamp ännu inte har vare sig en plats eller tid, har ordkriget mellan Michael ”Iron” Chandler (23-8) och ”Notorious” Conor McGregor (22-6) redan tagit vid. De två lättviktarna i UFC, som coachade den senaste säsongen av The Ultimate Fighter, är sagda att gå en match i oktogonen under 2024. Det har spekulerats kring vilken viktklass denna match kommer äga rum i. Bland annat har McGregor uttryckt en vilja att ta sig an Chandler i mellanvikt.

Oavsett var, när och hur kampen kommer gå av stapeln, är Chandler övertygad om att det blir en kort tillställning. Han tror sig kunna besegra McGregor redan i den andra ronden. Detta då han ser McGregor som en motståndare med en svag kampvilja. Således förväntar sig Chandler att irländaren kommer att ge upp tidigt in i deras möte.

Tål inte att bli pressad

I en intervju nyligen uttalade sig Michal Chandler om Conor McGregors sviktande kampvilja i buren. Han beskriver hur Conor flertalet tidigare gånger tillsynes har givit upp i matcher när han sätts under press av sin motståndare.

The fact of the matter is, Conor McGregor is a quitter. Conor McGregor is a quitter, especially when the pressure gets put on him. I watched him and Floyd Mayweather yesterday, that was a boxing match obviously, but you look at the Khabib fight, you look at the Diaz fight, the Poirier fights.

When he gets the pressure put on him, the guy who thinks he’s the alpha dog doesn’t like the pressure. Ultimately, it is just one big facade that they are trying to make sure the entire world doesn’t out them or doesn’t see the real them.

Om Chandler således sätter press på McGregor i början av kampen, ser han inte att den irländske UFC-stjärnan tar sig igenom andra ronden.

The real Conor is a quitter, Conor McGregor will quit in the second round of this fight. I believe I put the pressure on him, hit him with some hard shots, maybe he hits me with a couple, don’t go down, he’s not going be as fast he used to be, he’s not going to have great timing like he used to be.

Maybe he has the same power, maybe he doesn’t, it’s going to be fun, it’s going to be really really fun. The wrestling is always going to be there, the submissions are always going to be there, and the cage is always going to be there to push him up against and smother him, and turn it into a gritty, dirty fight.
