Nyligen stod det klart att UFCs forne mästare i lättvikt, Conor McGregor, kommer att ta sig an den nuvarande mästaren Khabib Nurmagomedov. Inför matchen har nu McGregor fått stöd från någon som han förmodligen inte väntade sig att få stöd från, sin gamla motståndare Floyd Mayweather. Det var i augusti förra året som McGregor och Mayweather möttes i en boxningsmatch där Mayweather stod som segrare via knockout efter 10 ronder. Nu berättar Mayweather i en intervju med TMZ att han välkomnar McGregor till sitt gym på boxningsklubben Mayweather Boxing Club.
I know that UFC got a training facility but we’d like for him to work out at the Mayweather Boxing Club.
I samma intervju berättar Mayweather även att han inte har någon aning om vem som vinner matchen på UFC 229 samt att han inte vet någonting mer om Nurmagomedov än att han är en duktig brottare.
I don’t really have a prediction because I’ve never seen the guy fight that’s facing Conor McGregor—from what I know he’s a hell of a guy that’s on the ground—hell of a grappler—and he can wrestle. But, the fans want to see you stand up and fight. That’s what the fans like to see. But, Conor McGregor, he’s a tough competitor, like I said before Conor McGregor’s not gonna back down from anyone, he’s not scared, he’s a warrior.
