Daniel Cormier svarar på hånen från Joaquin Buckley

UFC-welterviktaren Joaquin Buckley har åter en gång gått efter kommentatorn Daniel Cormier. De två har haft ett antal ordutbyten med varandra sedan Buckleys senaste match. Nu har Cormier svarat på de senaste hånen med att hans jobb inte är att lyfta upp fajters, utan analysera dem.

Daniel Cormier låter sig inte avskräckas

Osämjan mellan UFC-kommentatorn Daniel ”DC” Cormier och welterviktaren Joaquin ”New Mansa” Buckley (19-6) fortsätter att vara outredd. Det hela började med Buckleys senaste oktogonframträdande, där han valde att utmana superstjärnan ”Notorious” Conor McGregor (22-6).

Detta gjordes på ett särskilt ohyfsat vis, menade Cormier. Buckley tog illa vid sig av orden från veteranen och sedan dess har de legat i luven på varandra. Nyligen levererade ”New Mansa” ytterligare förolämpningar som berörde Cormier. DC tog tillfället i akt att besvara dessa på en podcast.

Jobb att analysera

I sitt svar till Joaquin Buckleys förolämpningar förklarar Daniel Cormier vad hans jobb inom MMA-sfären är. Han säger att det inte ingår i hans uppgifter att bara vara uppmuntrande till andra fajters. I stället skall Cormier enbart säga sanningen, menar han.

At the end of the day, I am who I am. I’m Daniel Cormier and ‘Imma be who ‘I’mma be. So it’s a matter of how does the interaction start? Because online, it’s been very disrespectful. Now? He seems to be peeling it back a little bit, and I believe that’s the right decision. I’m not trying to do anything to this man when he’s on the verge of one of the biggest fights of his career.

I don’t get it though. my job isn’t to uplift you, my job is to tell the truth! And I just didn’t agree with what you said in that callout. It was bad, it was really bad. Many people were in agreement that it wasn’t good. But that’s okay, we all make mistakes. We all have bad ones. Unfortunately, yours was at the biggest moment of your career. But again, I’ll be in Salt Lake City, I’ll be there and we can have that conversation that you want to have, Joaquin Buckley.
