Den tidigare mästaren i UFC:s lätta tungviktsdivision Jamahal Hill jagar ivrigt en returmatch mot den regerande titelhållaren Alex Pereira. Han vill dock inte riskera den chansen genom att göra något dumt som att starta ett slagsmål utanför oktogonen med brasilianaren.
Hill håller huvudet kallt
Jamahal ”Sweet Dreams” Hill (12-2, 1 NC) är långt ifrån att ge upp sin jakt på ett returmöte med Alex ”Poatan” Pereira (11-2). De två lätta tungviktarna drabbade samman under UFC 300, där Hill förlorade kampen om bältet med Pereira via knockout. Sedan dess har den nu 30-årige amerikanen varit minst sagt ettrig i sin skallgång sökandes ytterligare en kamp med mästaren.
Det är dock inte lägligt att implementera mer vårdslösa taktiker för att få sin returmatch för Hill. Nyligen sprang han in i Pereira på UFC Performance Institute, där de dock tog i hand och skildes åt på gentlemannavis. Hill förklarar att det inte ligger i hans person att börja bråka utanför oktogonen.
Ett lugnt möte
Nyligen publicerades en video till sociala medier, i vilken Jamahal Hill och Alex Pereira kortvarigt träffas på UFC Performance Institute, Las Vegas. De två männen tillkännager varandra, följt av en handskakning initierad av Hill.

Följande publikationen av videon, berättar Hill att han inte var intresserad i att starta något med Pereira där och då. Brasilianaren hade sina barn med sig, vilka Hill inte ville se bli upprörda. Vidare förklarar ”Sweet Dreams” att han respekterar Pereira som fadersfigur och skulle aldrig inleda ett bråk med barn i närheten. Sedan vill han heller inte riskera en framtida returmatch genom att orsaka problem, förklarar Hill.
One of the things I am a fan of the most about Alex and respect is the fatherhood and his sons. His sons were with him at the PI, so I was supposed to approach this man while he’s with his children and create a potentially dangerous situation? I love the fact that he takes his sons, his sons are there, they get to experience this and they’re into it.
At the fighter hotel when Anthony Smith was working out doing his weight cut, they had the same room, his sons came in with Glover Texeira and I was doing the same work as them. They were hitting mitts, throwing punches trying to look like their dad, all those things, I respect the hell out of that and I love to see that.
I would never put him in a position where he would feel he would have to cut experiences like that because of fear of there being a dangerous situation. Even them feeling uncomfortable or anything like that? I would never do that, that is not the type of man I am. That’s not what I stand for at all, whatsoever.
