Belal Muhammad svarar på utmaning från Colby Covington

UFC-welterviktaren Belal Muhammad har ingen tanke på att möta viktklasskollegan Colby Covington i en kamp. Covington har tidigare utmanat Muhammad, som går match i helgen mot mästaren Leon Edwards om welterviktsbältet. Enligt Muhammad är Covington inget mer än ett skämt i divisionen vid det här laget.

Muhammad raljerar över ”skämtet” Covington

Belal ”Remember The Name” Muhammad (23-3, 1 NC) är enbart ett par dagar ifrån att gå kamp om welterviktsbältet i UFC. Han möter den regerande mästaren Leon ”Rocky” Edwards (22-3, 1 NC) i huvudmatchen under UFC 304 i Manchester, England.

Således är det förståeligt att Muhammad i dagsläget inte har något annat fokus än den titelmatch som ligger framför honom. Han har dock ändå tagit tid till att svara på en utmaning från en annan welterviktare i divisionen, nämligen Colby ”Chaos” Covington (17-4).

Covington ser sig knocka Muhammad

Nyligen talade Colby Covington om hur en match mellan honom och Belal Muhammad skulle utspela sig. Covington tror sig vara fullt förmögen till att knocka ”Remember The Name” och tvekar på att Muhammad skulle kunna ta ner honom en enda gång i oktogonen. ”Chaos” avslutar med att säga att en matchning med Muhammad skulle vara den bästa kampen för honom.

I see myself KO’ing him, it’s just an easy fight. He can’t strike with me and I’ll show the world that he is just one-dimensional, he’s not going to out wrestle me. He won’t take me down one time. If he tries to make me down one time, I’ll submit him so fast, his takedowns are so average at best, his striking is so bad.

You couldn’t put away a one-armed Gilbert Burns, come on dude. The guy was on one shoulder, the guy was on one arm. You couldn’t put that guy away? It’s pretty sad and pathetic, so I think KO the guy and it’s a pretty easy fight.

If the UFC wants to give me that fight, that is the fight I want, he has talked a lot of stuff, said some serious things, made some serious allegations, and racist, cancel culture these days, he needs to get canceled. I’d love to catch up with Belal one of these days and hold him accountable for the words he said,

Muhammad svarar

Muhammad tycks dock inte känna sig särskilt hotad av Covington. I sitt svar på utmaningen berättar han att den 36-årige amerikanen är ett skämt i welterviktsdivisionen. Han avslutar med att föreslå att Covington Kanske kommer utmana en fjäderviktare härnäst.

That was honestly the funniest thing. I’m not even going to bring attention to it because then I’m going to have a back-and-forth with him. This guy’s a joke now. He understands he’s a joke now. So he’s trying to go out there and call out these bigger names now. He’s calling out me, he’s calling out Charles Oliveira. Ian Garry’s not worth it.

Why, because Ian Garry’s a bad matchup for you? He knows that if he loses one more fight, it’s over. How terrible that last fight was, he’s desperate for something. He’s desperate for a win. I think he’s going to sit there and wait. Maybe he’s going to call out a featherweight or somebody and hope one of those guys bite on the bullet.
